| For my job target I decided to locate different Internet resources that teachers could access to get students up and moving in their classroom. These sites are designed to let teachers give their students a 5-10 minute break to help get them re-energized. | |
| Active Academics - This site is easy to navigate and searchable for short 10 minute or less activities to promote movement throughout the academic day. Teachers can search by grade level and content area to find the most appropriate activity. | |
| Energizers: Classroom-based Physical Activities -North Carolina Physical Education is Active website has a link to Elementary School Energizers and Middle School Energizers that they have created to help teachers get students up and moving. These are free to download PDF files, with the Elementary School Energizers divided by Grades K-2 and 3-5. The Middle School Energizers are divided among content curriculum areas. | |
| Get Fit, Don't Sit Murray Webpage - This site offers a few lesson plans and links that teachers can use as part of their Active and Healthy Schools Program. | |
| Columbus Health Department Newsletter - This newsletter is from 2005, but offers good information and ideas for educators to think about and use in their classroom. | |
| Kim's Korner 4 Teacher Talk Icebreakers and Energizers - This site offers eleven different activities that can be used in a variety of ways that can be adapted for most grade levels. | |
| Fit Kids - The North Carolina Health and Wellness Trust Fund has developed this site as a resource for teachers. Teachers can search for Fit Kids Activities and See Learn Do Activity Videos. | |
