VIRTUAL SITES
SCAVENGER HUNT

As you go through this worksheet you will be asked to visit ten different virtual sites.  As you visit each site you will be asked to answer at least one question about the virtual site.

 

1. Visit the Virtual Frog Dissection web site.  Go through the entire dissection process and identify the organs that you had to remove.|

 

2. Next we are going to Tour the United States.  Using the Electric Map click on the state of South Dakota.  Scroll down the featured attractions list and click on Sioux Falls: Concrete outline of the USS South Dakota.  After reading about the Memorial of the USS South Dakota answer the following questions.

A. The USS South Dakota was the most decorated ship of which battle?

B. How long is the outline of the USS South Dakota?

 

3. Next we are going to go on an Agriculture Field Trip.  Under the Farm Field Trips click on the The Modern Dairy Farm and watch the provided video.  After view the video clip answer the following questions.

A. Typically how many times a day are cows milked?

B. What temperature is the milk stored at on the dairy farm?

C. List the four types of milk produced.

 

4. Next we are going to travel to Europe to visit the Eiffel Tower.  After exploring the Eiffel Tower and reading the description answer the following questions.

A.  In what year was the Eiffel Tower built?

B. Why was the Eiffel Tower built?

 

5. The Aquifer Virtual Field Trip is our next stop. Define aquifer, groundwater, and pollution as you travel and learn about the Spokane Aquifer.

6. Explore the Virtual Keyboard.  After playing around with it write your thoughts about this tool and how you might be able to use it on a SmartBoard.
 

7. For the future doctors out there it is time to take part in a Virtual Knee Surgery.  How what is the range of motion of a typical knee?

8. Go to Historic Philadelphia.  Once on the web page look at the Index column and choose two items to view.  In the space below write what you visited and one interesting fact that you learned.


9. View the Taj Mahal in India. After looking the pictures describe the architecture of it in the space provided below.

10. Check out this site Virtual Tours 360°.  Pick one item from this site to view and then describe how you can use virtual sites in your classroom.
